Ref: The occasion of the 2012 Olympic day: organised by the St Vincent and the Grenadines NationalOlympic committee as a “Sports for all day”.

Volleyball, Football, Netball, Rugby, Taekwondo, Athletes, Cycling and many other sports were represented at this fun Sports day for all ages.
NADO-SVG (National Anti Doping Association) was also in attendance and prominently displayed itsbanners, educational material whilst soliciting participation in the WADA(World Anti-doping Association) Play True Quiz.

It was undoubtedly a successful outing for Anti-doping in sport education in St Vincent and theGrenadines. The importance attached to Anti-Doping was clearly reinforced by the fact the NationalOlympic Committee was happy to share our tent facilities and space and they were always eager toadvise us on how best to engage the attendees.

The NADO-SVG focus was on the youth present at the event by introducing them to our computerisedPlay True quiz and the available literature. In doing so, we recognised that our youth and youngsportsmen and women were eager to participate in and learn something new as they displayed a mostpositive attitude by repeating the quiz until they were able to score 9 or 10 out of 10.

NADO-SVG was also much encouraged by officials from the Ministries of Health and Sport who indicatedto us a willingness to work with us to get our message across to the populace.

NADO-SVG has recently begun creating a national test pool from information received from individualsporting Association. We can report that 99% of associations contacted are being very supportiveenabling us to build our data bank. We are confident that we will eventually possess the most up to dateand accurate data for our national purpose.

The St Vincent and the Grenadines National Olympic committee has been very supportive in providingcommunication tools and information that has allowed us to get this task done in a very short time and asa consequence, all stakeholders are benefiting from the focus on delivering this data and we have copiedour Play True quiz to the NOC in the hope that all their affiliates will benefit.

NADO-SVG was also much encouraged by officials from the Ministries of Health and Sport who indicatedto us a willingness to work with us to get our message across to the populace.

We would also like to express our thanks to the NOC for providing us with 2 computers for the day

NADO-SVG sincerely hopes that such a focus will eventually improve the quantity and quality of oursportsmen and women and further raise the bar on the professionalism we seek to establish with allsports stakeholders.

The NADO-SVG tent was managed by Dr Perry DeFreitas (RADO board Member) and Mr Rudi Daniel (Senior DCO-NADO-SVG)
