Yet another member country of the Caribbean RADO has formed their own National Anti-Doping Organization, a sure indication of the growing awareness and importance of the move to eradicate and educate on doping in sport.  Dominica officially launched their NADO on the June 3rd 2013.

The RADO’s Executive Director Tessa Chaderton-Shaw was present at the launch accompanying the island’s Minister of Education and Human Resource Development - Hon. Petter St. Jean, President of the Dominica Olympic Committee and Chair of the new NADO Felix Wilson.  Also present were representatives from UNESCO and from the local media and the local Drug Prevention Unit.

This drive is a part of the UNESCO initiative, which makes available the opportunity for other countries throughout the Caribbean to heighten drug awareness.

Dominica is now well on the way and better equipped to address the global issue of doping in sport on all levels, next steps are inclusive of appropriate legislation and the adoption of anti-doping model rules.
