THE MEDICAL PROFESSIONALS ROLE

Medical doctors, nutritionists, physiotherapists, and health care personnel all play an invaluable role in the development, maintenance and overall health of the athlete. They also have a critical duty to ensure that athletes are not facilitating the use of prohibited substances or methods as a form of aid or enhancement, and furthermore, to make certain that they do not knowingly provide such substances to athletes.

It is therefore imperative that all medical and paramedical personnel familiarize and educate themselves on current anti-doping information, particularly that related to the Prohibited List of banned substances and methods and Therapeutic Use Exemptions (TUEs).
