Patrick Werleman is the current Board Member for Aruba and Chairman of the Caribbean RADO.
In Aruba he holds the position of Director of Sports Development at the Aruban Olympic Committee and president of the Anti-Doping Commission.
Before joining the Aruban Olympic Committee, he held positions as Legal Advisor for the Government Sports Department, Executive Director of the Sport Facilities Management Foundation (FMAFD) and Director of the National Coordination Bureau of Addiction Care.
For the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games he had the honor to be Chef de Mission for Aruba.
From a very young age he enjoyed a very active lifestyle and was always a devoted athlete. He practiced Badminton, Beach Tennis, Mountain Biking and Triathlon and he was a competitive athlete in Volleyball, Football, Squash and Baseball which is his true passion. He still participates actively as player-coach for the Baseball team he founded “The Old Timers”.
This love of sports and physical activity was fundamental in his educational journey. After receiving the Associate Degree as Sport Instructor and Leisure Sport Coordinator he continued to receive a Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education. Eager to continue to educate himself he then accomplished a Master Degree in Law and an Executive Master Degree in Sport Organization Management.
During his career he held various management positions in several social and Governmental Organizations and National Federations. He is the current acting Chairman for the Aruba Subsidy Foundation Supervisory Board.
